I have the good fortune to be the leader and Lone Arranger for the Morchestra, a 17-piece jazz orchestra of top Bay Area players, based in Berkeley. We've been a going concern for over 10 years, having played at the Jazzschool Le Peña, Ashkenaz, Bach Dancing and Dynamite, Pacifica Performances, La Peña, and several times as part of Berkeley's Music in the Parks series. Our programs include a full evening of Brazilian music featuring the great Brazilian singer Catia Machado, and concerts featuring wonderful guest singers including Jackie Ryan, Clairdee, Nicholas Bearde, Morning Nichols and Downbeat poll winner Ed Reed.
