Point Richmond Music

Point Richmond Music (PRM) provides free outdoor summer concerts as a way to build community through the unifying language of music. The all volunteer committee shares a vision of celebrating diversity and promoting the arts.

Point Richmond Music mourns the passing of Pete Devine.Pete was a singular presence in the Bay Area music community — a percussionist of rare imagination, deep musical knowledge, and joyful spirit. As a founding member of HowellDevine, he helped create a sound that felt both timeless and alive, rooted in early blues traditions yet entirely his own.Pete brought that magic to Point Richmond Music, and we were honored to host him here. Whether driving a groove with a drum kit, a washboard, or a porcelain whiskey jug, Pete played with a kind of effortless mastery that made the music feel human, communal, and real. He didn’t just keep time — he told stories with rhythm.Beyond his remarkable musicianship, Pete was generous, curious, and deeply connected to the people around him. His collaborations spanned genres and generations, but his heart was always in the shared experience of live music — musicians and audience breathing the same air, feeling the same pulse. We are grateful for the music he gave us, for the moments we shared, and for the legacy he leaves behind in the Bay Area blues and roots community. Pete Devine will be deeply missed. Our thoughts are with his family, bandmates, and all who loved him.— Point Richmond Music ... See MoreSee Less
