Aireene & The Itch play a mix of stompin', swayin', timeless and soulful Americana reminiscent of front porch storytelling, of ghosts and the living, times of laughter and tears. Aireene was a soloist with the Glide Ensemble in San Francisco, toured nationwide and internationally, and in 2016, was added to the roster of artists under non-profit label, Little Village. She created A Color-Coded Symphony project, a musical experience connecting the audience’s ethnic origins to rhythms of the world and whose aim is to nurture curiosity and openness towards other cultures through music. Her latest project is, The Sampaguitas, singing Filipino folk songs and originals in three-part harmonies.
“A rare breed of artist, soul singer, folk troubadour, a skiffle tear-stained street singer with a heart as big as the history of the music that drives her...a storyteller without borders or cultural limitations.” - No Depression
“Folk singer-songwriter Aireene Espiritu works in the elemental substance of vernacular American music with an uncanny ease. Whether blues, hillbilly, soul, folk or R&B...demonstrates masterly command of each. Her original compositions mix deft lyrical construction and classic form just as impressively...An authentic, authoritative vocalist and with distinctly sensitive manner of phrasing...” - Los Angeles Times

I am a singer, songwriter, and chromatic harmonica player playing all original West Coast jazz/blues with my band of six crack Bay Area musicians: Chris Burns (keys, MD for Maria Muldaur for 25+ years), Doug Rowan (tenor sax) and Mike Rinta (trombone), who both won a Grammy as part of the Pacific Mambo Orchestra, Joe Kyle Jr. (bass, Howell Devine), Jules Leyhe (guitar, the Family Jules Band), and Adam Briere (drums). We just returned from four extremely enthusiastically received sets as part of the Lucerne Blues Festival (Switzerland, from which the second video below was taken by a fan. We have released seven albums to date, to numerous award nominations, stellar critical reviews, and global airplay. Our grooves evoke the jump blues of the 40s and 50s, but we also draw on diverse influences, including Brazilian bossa and jazz.
Although I am the bandleader, we are song-oriented, and everyone in the band pulls their weight and has their opportunity to flash their virtuosity. Our songs are topical and often humorous; our goal is for audiences to laugh, dance, and think all at the same time. We have a great time on stage with each other, and that rolls over into our audience interaction as well. We address serious topics, everything from gun violence to climate change, but in a light-hearted and fun way. The world is full of troubles, but our aim is to take the aches and pains of daily life and transform them into something beautiful and uplifting on stage.

The band Dirty Cello is based in the Bay Area, but travels all over the world presenting their unique danceable and always fun version of blues and rock. The band rocks out everywhere from synagogues in Singapore to musk ox farms in Alaska, and everywhere in between.
Don’t worry about the compliments from the media, instead, listen to the words of a past Point Richmond music audience member, who said, “I’m exhausted, but I had so much fun!”
Led by Rebecca Roudman, cellist and singer, who is known for her work in the Oakland Symphony and who occasionally ruffles the feathers of her calmer classical colleagues, she leads the band with both energy and more energy.
As a 5 or 6 piece group, the band presents original music that makes you say, “Wait, isn’t that a cover song?” All the music is centered in the sounds of rock and blues, but with a very unique spin and a whole lot of wailing cello.

Trading off on electric bass and acoustic guitars as our primary instruments, we showcase our original music that blends classic finger-picking with a nod to the blues and jazz, (some of our classical roots peeking out), and evocative story-telling.
