2020 Schedule

Dear Community,

As you know, Point Richmond Music produces a free summer concert series that has become an annual cultural tradition for Bay Area residents, who come together to enjoy original live music and to celebrate our community. It is with regret that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have decided to cancel our 2020 season. Right now, the best way to celebrate and protect our community is not to come together until this crisis passes. And while we hope that the stay-at-home orders may be safely lifted in the coming months, large gatherings without social distancing likely will continue to be prohibited.

To the more than 300 bands who applied to be a part of our season, thank you. It saddens us greatly not to hold our concert series, as we are very aware of the economic impact of cancellations on musicians. But clearly our first obligation is to protect us all by reducing community transmission of the coronavirus.

To our volunteers, we will miss working side by side with you this year to produce this series. Your dedication and civic spirit will find other, more pressing outlets as we take care of our community in new ways.

To our past sponsors, thank you for making our free series possible. This would have been our 19th season, and we couldn’t have made it this far without your generous support.

It is our hope and goal that the Point will come alive with music, dancing, and community spirit once again. To keep the spirit of our mission going, if you are in a position to do so, please consider making a donation to one of the countless worthy organizations working hard to get us through this, including the Bay Area Rescue Mission, the Greater Richmond Interfaith Program and Sweet Relief’s COVID-19 Resource Fund for musicians and music industry workers affected by the Coronavirus.

In the meantime, we wish you all health and safety.

Thank you,

Andrew Butt
